The ENT Department at Unicorpus provides advanced, evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic services for conditions involving the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. Scope of Clinical Practice
Our ENT Department provides expert diagnostic, medical, and surgical care for both routine and complex conditions. Our multidisciplinary team ensures personalised, evidence-based, and compassionate treatment.
1. Otology (Ear)
From the outer ear to the cochlea, we deliver complete clinical care for auditory and vestibular conditions. Services include:
- Evaluation and management of hearing loss across all types—conductive, sensorineural, and mixed.
- Ongoing management of external and middle ear infections, including chronic suppurative otitis media.
- Treatment for tinnitus, aural fullness, ear barotrauma, and Eustachian tube dysfunction.
- Assessment and rehabilitation of vertigo and balance disorders, such as Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) and Ménière’s disease.
- Surgical interventions include tympanoplasty, mastoidectomy, grommet insertion, and ossiculoplasty.
2. Rhinology (Nose and Sinuses)
- Treatment of allergic rhinitis, non-allergic rhinitis, and chronic rhinosinusitis using pharmacological and surgical approaches.
- Treatment of nasal polyposis, nasal obstruction, septal deviation, and epistaxis (nosebleeds).
- Endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) for inflammatory and infective sinus disease.
- Management of olfactory disturbances (loss or alteration of smell), often post-viral or trauma-induced.
- Multidisciplinary skull-base evaluation for intricate neurological conditions.
3. Laryngology (Throat and Voice)
Services include:
- Evaluation and management of voice disorders, such as dysphonia, vocal fatigue, and hoarseness.
- Diagnosis and treatment of vocal cord lesions (nodules, polyps, cysts, paralysis).
- Care for pharyngitis, chronic throat clearing, globus sensation, and laryngopharyngeal reflux.
- Vocal cord assessment and surgery were performed using microlaryngoscopy with stroboscopic guidance.
- Voice therapy programmes are developed and implemented with speech-language pathologists.
4. Head and Neck/Thyroid Surgery
Services include:
- Diagnosis and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid disorders, including goitre, nodules, and carcinoma.
- Evaluation and excision of neck masses, salivary gland tumours, and lymphadenopathy.
- Multidisciplinary care for head and neck cancers, with a focus on organ preservation and functional rehabilitation.
- Collaboration with oncology and radiology teams for comprehensive cancer care.
5. Sleep Medicine
Services include:
- Evaluation of snoring, daytime fatigue, and sleep apnoea symptoms.
- Polysomnography (sleep study) to assess obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) severity.
- Management with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy and/or surgical interventions like uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) and septoplasty.
- Paediatric OSA management via tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy.

- ZOtoplasty, scar revision, and post-traumatic facial reconstruction.
- ZManagement of congenital anomalies (e.g., cleft lip/palate deformities, microtia).
- ZReconstructive surgery following oncological excision, facial nerve repair, and skin grafting.
- ZMinimally invasive cosmetic procedures, including botulinum toxin injections and dermal fillers.
Paediatric ENT
We provide age-appropriate, family-centred care for a range of childhood ENT conditions.

- ZSpecialist management of persistent ear infections, reduced hearing, and earwax blockage.
